Java Tech Lead

This is your mission

Are you passionate about Java development, backend architecture, data quality and technical leadership? Then this opportunity is for you.

As a Java Tech Lead, you will lead the technical delivery of a team working on the evolution of an application managing groups of financial statements referential data.

The application connects with external public and market-data providers and includes data capture capabilities for unstructured documents. Its objective is to ensure high data quality and consistency across multiple referential data sources, reduce discrepancies in reporting and enable faster and more accurate insights.

You will combine hands-on technical expertise with technical leadership, ensuring that the team delivers secure, scalable and maintainable solutions while working closely with developers, end users and other stakeholders.

On the build side:

Lead and coordinate the technical design and development of the backend application.
Define and challenge backend architecture choices to ensure the solution is secure, scalable and maintainable.
Provide technical guidance and support to the development team.
Ensure the application is developed using Java 21 and the Spring Framework.
Lead the implementation and evolution of data exposure solutions through APIs.
Define and promote development standards and good programming practices across the team.
Ensure the application follows best practices related to CI/CD, microservices, unit testing and versioning.
Support the industrialization of the solution and its deployment processes.
Work with the team on advanced SQL and PostgreSQL development.
Participate in technical discussions and translate functional requirements into appropriate technical solutions.
Contribute to the validation of the solution with end users.

On the run side:

Ensure the quality, scalability and maintainability of the application and its backend components.
Review technical implementations and support the resolution of complex technical issues.
Ensure consistency in development practices and technical decisions across the team.
Support the maintenance and evolution of APIs and data exposure solutions.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand functional needs and ensure their translation into technical solutions.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the development process and technical practices.
Support the team in troubleshooting issues related to the application, database, APIs and deployment environments.
Ensure technical documentation is maintained and shared within the team.

This is your background

You have solid professional experience in software engineering and backend development, with significant experience working with Java and Spring-based applications.

You have experience taking technical ownership of applications or development components and supporting other developers in their technical work.

You are comfortable working in an environment combining software engineering, data-related challenges and technical business analysis.

Experience with third-party data, data governance or data management is considered an asset.

Experience in a similar banking environment is also considered a plus.
